How to launch the traffic to your blog using SEO?

Hello everyone,

This time, I’m going to give a few tips for increasing the traffic to your blog using SEO principals. Implementing those tips is very important, as with time (not immediately) your post will start being ranked higher in search engines results, which will derive a constant and huge amount of traffic to your blog through them. It do require some work at the beginning (not a lot), but with time you will master it and it will become your second nature.
So how does SEO works? Basically, Google and other search engines collect data (words, likes, shares..), which allows them to recommend and rank blogs based on how well people trust those blogs.

(1) First step of a good SEO post is a keyword research. A wide array of free and paid keyword research tools exist. Many of these tools, such as Wordtracker, have traditionally return keywords that people recently searched for. Using the right keywords, in the right amount of repetitions, in the right places will increase your SEO dramatically. So, where to use them?
(2) It is crucial to use your keywords in your page title, preferably near the start of your page title. You may want to use your keywords, related phrases, and popular keyword modifiers in your page content a couple times, but with an emphasis on writing natural. Make sure that your content reads well to humans, as that matters much more than what a robot thinks of your content. If people like your content and link at it that is more valuable than getting on page optimization down perfect but sounding robotic in the process.
(3) YouTube – YouTube lists today’s most popular, today’s most discussed, and today’s favorite videos. Many of these are irrelevant to your site, but any of these could help you find ideas that have already displayed some level of social proof. (Therefore can create lots of share’s, likes, and discussions in your blog, which increases SEO)
(4) Focusing On Competing Websites – You don’t have to track everything to be successful. You only have to compete in your market. If you read a dozen or two dozen blogs in your market, track who is getting linked to, and why people are talking about them, that makes it easy for you to identify and create ideas and content worthy of being mentioned.
(5) Categories & Tag Pages – Create categories that are well aligned with industry related keywords. Doing this will create a site structure that helps those category pages rank well for the keywords in them. If your site is focused on weight loss, then creating categories about exercise, diet programs, diet pills, and weight loss supplements make sense.

I can go on and on (And I will do it in next posts if you ask me to) but usually when giving to many advices, none is being implemented.. šŸ™‚

How to write a headline that stops your audience cold?

Hi All,

So in the last post we’ve discussed comment marketing and participating in other people’s blogs. In WordPress, as in most of theĀ  other blog platforms, when you “like” someone else’s post, he immediately receives an email informing him about your “like”. In this email, he will also get notifications about your 3 latest posts, linked by their headlines. So, if your headlines goes something like: “blah blah blah, I’m an attractive headline”, you will gain traffic. But if it goes something like – “Blah Blah Blah, I’m a boring and also not such a clear headline, and no one who reads me understands what I want to say”, than you lose traffic. This is very simple.

In this post, as you’ve probably already understood I’m going to discuss the principals of writing a good headline (Wasn’t that already very clear by reading the headline?). Look, your headline must do 2 jobs, and it must do them quickly:

(1) Catch the full attention of your intended audience, and
(2) Bring them into your post.

So, how do you do that? That’s easy: you use trigger words, aimed at your target audience.

Who is the target audience for your blog? artists, just like you? woman, 60-70 years old from LA? Maybe 14 yo girls admiring the current most stylish boys band? Maybe anyone who loves 19th century literature? Everything can work, besides one thing – “Everyone are my target audience”. This doesn’t work.

Now, after you’ve understood who is your target audience (In the blogging world, target audience is post specific, meaning that they can change from one post to another), you have to use the trigger words that will catch their attention in your headline. What are trigger words? Any word that is clear, specific, and talks to these people. Here are some examples for GOOD headlines that use trigger words and are aimed at a specific target audience: (Make yourself an exercise and try to understand who is the audience and what are the trigger words)

“New cancer cure discovered by french scientist!”
“Can you use another $1000 a month, without having to work for it?”
“Read this before you sell your car!”
“A short message for single people only
“Attention, butterfly collectors”
“Do you have Athlete’s foot… or something worse?”

HOW TO WRITE KILLER COMMENTS THAT WILL INCREASE TRAFFIC TO YOUR BLOG

Hi All,

As promised in the last post, here are 5 tips 4 comment marketing (refers to the 1st category in the previous post).
Comment Marketing refers to the act of commenting on other blog posts in order to increase traffic to your blog. This can happen in various ways: By commenting consistently you improve the awareness to your blog by the author of the blog you comment on and his audience, you gain direct traffic back to your posts and you improve your blogā€™s SEO (Search Engine Optimization).
The most important things that you should always keep in mind when you comment are three: Be relevant, specific and interesting. With this in mind, here are my 5 tips for comment marketing:

1. Read the last 5 posts made by the author. It will give you a great sense of the author ā€“ his perspective, interest and so on. It will help you create a more positive, impactful impression with your comment.
2. Read 3 posts worth of comments ā€“ Just as the previous tip, you will gain understanding of the community. If you wonā€™t do it, you might write a comment which appears out of place. You will than lose the potential traffic to your blog. You want to stick out from the crowd, but not because youā€™re an inexperienced contributor.
3. Write more than a Tweet but less than a blog post ā€“ The exact amount is up to you, but the optimal range is between 140 chars (A Tweet) and 2-3 paragraphs. It is enough to make your point (And leave a link) but is also easy to consume.
4. NEVER drop a pure reference link ā€“ These kind of comments are usually getting rejected. If youā€™re going to leave a link, it better be highly relevant to the post, interesting to the audience and as non-promotional as possible (or, if it is highly promotional, prefaced transparently as such)
5. Itā€™s OK to promote your comment (and their post) socially ā€“ Bloggers love getting their work tweeted/shared, so if you tweet/FB share a reference to your comment on their post, particularly if you call them out by name, it can have a very positive effect.

How to catapult your blog’s traffic?

Hi All!

In this 1st post of mine, Iā€™m going to share some conventional ways to increase traffic to your blog, which are so basic and effective, that if you get used to implement them, your blog will never stop getting bigger (I myself didnā€™t have the time to implement all of them in this blog yet, but it will happen soon enough, I hope ). In my next posts, I’m going to explore each and every one of them deeply, in order to help you become the great blogger that you can easily be.

So, here are my tips for creating a monster blog:

1. Give ā€“ In order to increase traffic to your blog, you have to become ā€˜visibleā€™ to others. Meaning ā€“ read other blog posts, like, comment (An article explaining how to comment ā€˜correctlyā€™ is soon to come) and share. Bloggers are usually very friendly and nice and will give you back by reading your posts, ā€˜likeā€™ them, leave their comments and share you posts.

2. Headlines ā€“ The first thing a blogger sees when he enters your blog is the headline of the uppermost post. So, if the headline goes something like: ā€œbla bla blaā€¦ boaringā€ he will immidiately leave your page. Instead, if the headline goes something: ā€œThe one legged golf player who won the world championshipā€ is a killer headline (In case you are writing a golf blog of course ). In addition, when you ā€˜likeā€™ or comment on other blog posts, an email is sent to the owner of this blog. This email addresses him to your blog by saying ā€“ ā€œYou should go see what theyā€™re (You) up to. Great posts by (You): Headline1, headline2, headline3ā€¦ So, if your headlines are interesting he will immediately come back to your page.

3. Now that one might be surprising ā€“ WRITE SOMETHING INTERESTING. Give your reader some value. Make him want to share your post, make him want to come back to your page, make him want to be your follower. If you donā€™t have anything with real value to write ā€“ just donā€™t.

4. Make them comment ā€“ You want to have an active discussion on each and every one of your blog posts. How do you make them leave a comment? Easily, you just finish your post with a relevant question, just like I do in the end of this post. Than, make sure to answer each comment with another question, to raise a discussion.

5. Design, design, design. Well, this blog is not a good example (yet), but this one is – http://thisisawesome.com/. I know I know, you are not a graphic designer. Yet, just by deciding to create a better looking blog, you can take some minor steps that will make a great difference. Here is a link for an article regarding easy steps to improve blogā€™s design.

So, what would you like me to talk about next, regarding ANYTHING in the blogging world? LOVE
